Neil and Denise in Sorrento... | ||

Tuesday morning we rode south to Naples and the Amalfi Coast. We arrived at our destination of Sorrento, where we shopped at night and took boat rides during the day. They built our hotel il Faro against a cliff next to the harbor, or visa versa. A cruise ship called The World, with a mere 125 owner-passengers, remained moored at Sorrento during our stay. |

Wednesday we took a jet boat to Positano, a picturesque community of colorful villas overlooking the Mediteranean. We enjoyed a two hour lunch of pizza, pasta, and beer. We browsed the shops in the village, then went for a swim at the public beach. This rock looks down over Positano. On the return trip, we lounged in the afternoon sun on the upper deck. |

Thursday morning we caught an early boat to Capri. With a full day ahead on the island, we rented a scooter. Up the hill we went, Neil on the front, Denise on the back, until we arrived at Capri Town, with its upscale shopping, and view of the harbor. From there we rode to Anacapri, where we took a lift to the top of the peak. After a snack, we rode to Faro Beach, where we enjoyed a swim and a lunch overlooking the pool, then to Piccolo beach, where we had a view of the famous outcropping of rocks. |
